The fact that September 13th, today, is the date of Bella Swan's birthday in Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series played a hand in the events lined up in Washington for "Stephenie Meyer Weekend." Today, a Bella Birthday Ball will be had as part of the festivities and, over in Seattle, The Twilight Saga: New Moon and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse star Tinsel Korey will give the gift of a benefit concert for the Quileute Youth. The festivities for the weekend, though, have already begun, and in a rather significant way, it seems. "Edward would have sparkled Saturday," says the Pennsylvania Daily News. "Despite its reputation as the rainiest place in the [continental U.S.], Forks was bright and sunny." Approximately 1,200 fans made their way to Forks for the event and participated in Saturday's events - including a presentation by Twilight In Forks' director and producer. At TwiFest, which was Port Angeles' portion of the weekend's events, at least two couples took up the city's offer to hold a Twilight-themed wedding vow renewal ceremony. On hand were a "makeshift meadow," "cardboard cutouts of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen" and an ordained minister to officiate the ceremony. Read more about that here.
