Thanks to, MovieFone. Who should direct Breaking Dawn? As everyone who hasn't been living under a rock for the last five years knows, Stephenie Meyer's massively popular 'Twilight' books have turned into an international pop phenomenon thanks in part to the equally popular series of blockbuster movie adaptations.
? James Cameron is the most successful director of our time, and his back-to-back record-smashing hits 'Titanic' and 'Avatar' have proven that he knows how to tell a modern love story like nobody else in Hollywood. Of course, such perfection takes time -- based on how long 'Avatar' took, he probably wouldn't finish the second 'Breaking Dawn' installment until 2036 -- but with Cameron's 3D genius, we bet you'd almost be able to reach out and touch Pattinson's amazing hair. ? Quentin Tarantino is a master of clever action and inspired dialogue, which makes him the perfect choice to bring Meyer's moving words to life. Plus, he already has experience filming double features thanks to 'Grindhouse' and his pair of 'Kill Bill' films. Fans of the books may have to get used to his penchant for jumbling the story into an offbeat mix of flashbacks, flashforwards and parallel sequences, but we think he'd make up for it with a soundtrack guaranteed to be genius. ? Rob Zombie may not be the first name that springs to mind when you think of 'Twilight,' but as the standard bearer for modern horror, he knows a thing or two about vampires and werewolves. We can't think of anyone better to handle the controversial birthing sequence from 'Breaking Dawn' than the man who brought 'Halloween' and 'Devil's Rejects' so memorably to our screens. ? Michael Bay is in many ways the Hollywood version of Stepehnie Meyer. He knows how to tell a story and his films are massively popular with fans of exciting cinema all over the world. One thing's for sure: If the mastermind behind 'Transformers' were directing 'Breaking Dawn,' the action quotient would surely be ratcheted up, addressing what many felt was the only (minor) weakness of the book. ? Martin Scorcese has a history of developing close working relationships with the top young star of each generation, first with Robert De Niro and then with Leonardo DiCaprio. So it only makes sense that he and emerging superstar Robert Pattinson would finally team up. Scorcese's participation would also bring instant credibility to the 'Twilight' franchise with the stuffed shirts that so far have snubbed the movies during awards season. Get ready to print up your "Team Oscar" T-shirts. |
